- Based on my experience, the speed can vary during the call and usually
- will end up lower than first reported. It would be great if you had a real
- time readout of the current speed. Most people would be shocked at how low
- you can go. In the case of the Couriers, the transmit and receive channels
- can be different (and normally are different), unfortunately, most modems
- drag both channels down to the common denominator of the lowest speed
- channel. Not trying to be a pessimist, however, I wish you would do some
- stats after the termination of your calls. Also, if you want to sacrifice
- a few calls, break into a few sessions and get some stats.
